sundream X The painted world

Art is constantly evolving and can never be restricted to a single definition, much like the people who create unique works of art.

Sundream Baja is a four-day destination music festival created by RÜFÜS DU SOL.

This campaign aims to create Sundream 2024 as a true expression of music beyond the artists performing. We will aim to create a space for collaboration among different artists through various mediums, from musicians to visual creators. Together, we’ll build a festival with an aesthetic curated by the people attending it.

Concept Ideation Process 

While brainstorming potential concepts, we delved into research on the music festival, its location, and the significance of art to individuals. Based on our findings, we narrowed down our options to three main concepts that we could integrate into the campaign.

  1. Reinforce Sundream with Mexican roots inspired by the Die De Muertos Festival.

  2. The celebration of Art with a collaborative painting experience

  3. A whimsical touch by telling the story from under the sea

Instagram 

A simple idea to leverage the advent of music in Instagram stories and Instagram filters to give the acts performing at Sundream a chance to cement themselves in peoples’ minds.

We aimed to create an artistic filter led by a visual artist who collaborates with performers at SunDream. Each filter will be a symbol of the artist, enabling others to showcase their favourite artists and share them through a digital platform using the filter.

Spotify

An execution centred around giving the audience of Sundream the chance to feel heard and seen, through the weeks leading up to the festival and even at the festival themselves.
